Tips for Recruitment

Tips for Going through Recruitment

Expect the weather to be hot! You are in the Texas Hill Country in August. Please keep this in mind and dress cool and comfortably!

Expect to be nervous and stressed. It is natural to have those butterflies in your stomach when you approach a new chapter house, but it will get easier as the days progress. Remember, the sisters are just as nervous as you are! They also feel a lot of pressure to find their new sisters for their chapter. Just relax and smile, and enjoy meeting new friends.

Expect to meet lots of new people! Sorority recruitment is a great opportunity to meet many women on the Texas State campus.

Expect to be asked a lot of questions. The recruitment process relies on a great amount of conversation and interaction between potential new members and sorority members. This is a great opportunity to get to know sorority women on a personal level. Be expected to answer many questions, but don’t forget to ask your own!

Expect to be tired from long days during the Recruitment process. The Recruitment Counselors will do everything they can, but ultimately it is up to you to have a positive recruitment experience. It is tiring but enjoy what all the chapters are presenting to you! Having an open mind is a great tool when entering each house!

Expect to enjoy recruitment! Make the most out of your recruitment experience, and never be afraid to ask questions if you need anything!
